Every year, Bunny takes dictation from the dogs in our house and writes their letters to Santa for them. Since she uses my computer to write them, I always seem to find them and I can never resist sharing them here with our readers. Today, we have Morgan’s letter to Santa.
I hope this letter finds you well. I’m not as young as I used to be, and I have a new appreciation for the big job you do every year. I don’t know how you keep doing it every year while you keep getting a year older like the rest of us. I have a new appreciation for that long winter’s nap now, I can tell you that.
I’m sure you know that I’ve been busy keeping an eye on everyone here in our pack. It’s not easy keeping them all safe with those crazy rabbits running around. I don’t worry too much about the other dogs here being able to defend themselves, but those humans are so fragile. Sometimes, I have trouble sleeping just thinking about the things that could happen to them. I’ve seen that they have new tracking devices out on the market, and I think I need one for each of them. It would be even better if you could maybe install a tiny microchip in each of them while they sleep on Christmas Eve. I mean, if we dogs can have them, they should work on humans, too.
I’d also be ever so appreciative if you’d let me have just one day to work on eradicating those devious rabbits. One day is all I’d need, and I could, ahem, convince them to relocate to a yard without dogs so my family would be safe from the little devils. I’m sure you understand how dangerous they are. They must all be on the Naughty List all the time.
Speaking of the Naughty List, I feel that I should say a few words here. You may have heard that story about Flattery attacking the Lego Star Wars people and chewing up the good guy while leaving the bad guy unscathed. I also know there was video surveillance of this incident and that our elf may have sent you the footage. But I feel that I need to clarify a few things. You see, the camera does show Flattery taking the Legos off the table, but she was behind the chair, and so was I. I saw things the camera didn’t record. Santa, that Lego guy had it coming. He was shooting off his little blaster and about to make a real disaster of our house. Flattery saved us all from serious destruction and mayhem. I know it looks sketchy on the video, but if you could have seen it from behind the chair, you’d have no doubts that Flattery did what had to be done. She should be rewarded with a few presents, I think, and maybe her own national holiday.
Anyway, that’s all I have to say this year. I’ll do my best to be a good dog in the upcoming year and keep my loved ones safe. I hope that you have a good year, as well. Now I’m off for that nap.
All The Best,
