Once again the earth has made it around the sun. We made it. It is now time for resolutions. I say that even though I’m not at all one for resolutions. Personally I am more into a quick list to plan things I would like to accomplish. Wow, 2016 went by so very fast. We had another scare with the Chief Editor’s father which started early in November. But this year he was home for the holidays. Now that the holidays are almost over we are almost back to normal. 2017 is here and it started well. I will not go into it now but, if you read the blog on this coming Monday I am sure the Chief Editor will share how we started our year out.
As I was thinking about writing this post for today I was trying to come up with a way to recap the past year. Probably the biggest thing was that Küster and I finally were to the point that we are trying to challenge ourselves in the Wilderness Area Search Discipline. Team Küster still is working on our long down so that they are not so stressful. We are getting better.
What does 2017 bring in? Here are team Küster’s resolutions:
- First and foremost, get more training in. Continued training not only strengthens the our partnership and prepares us for deployment, it lets us work on our long downs.
- Timely training logs. Yep, that not so glamorous part of training. I actually do pretty good with my training logs with one caveat. I need to complete them in a more timely manner.
- Re-Certifications in our Wilderness Area Search and Trailing. Yes, both are due.
That is it. I understand that it does not seem like much. My goals are obtainable though. They are also measurable. This works for me and my dog.
Now when it comes to Search and Rescue Saturday I am going to do more photography this year. I will be totally honest with you. It is very difficult to train and take pictures. Lately I feel that I am in need of new pictures. So, new pictures are my goal.
I hope everyone was able to have an enjoyable New Years holiday. What was one of your resolutions for 2017? Are you ready to take it on?
