It’s hard to believe that in a few days, we’ll say good bye to another year and ring in a new one. I don’t know how you feel about it, but I’m ready to see 2017 out the door. We had our good and bad moments and we’ve all gotten a year wiser. My body feels this year, too.
As we turn over a new year, I think it’s pretty natural think about the year you’re leaving behind and the things you want for the next year. To be honest, I want a year when I don’t feel like many of my friendships are dependent on politics and the whims of those who make decisions about our country. It seems like no matter what side people are on, they can’t let it go.
What I want this year is to have more fun with our dogs, and to enjoy more time with our dog loving friends. I hope that we can celebrate more of what makes us alike and worry less about what makes us different. I also hope that we can remember that being different isn’t always bad. It doesn’t mean that we have to argue if we don’t have the same perspective.
I hope that in the next year, we can remember to be kinder to each other, see the best in each other and remember to see the world more like our dogs do. I hope that it brings you happiness, prosperity and good health. Just remember that it’s a blank page as of now, and you can make of it what you want.
