If you live in the United States, you probably know that a big event is going to happen this Sunday. There’s a big Bowl game coming. I’m talking, of course, about the Puppy Bowl.
I know, there are a lot of people who get together and have Super Bowl parties, but for dog lovers who don’t enjoy football, the Puppy Bowl is where it’s at. I’m afraid my husband and I are alone among our family and friends when it comes to preferring to watch something with dogs in it over watching a bunch of guys run around and pound each other, though. I have found myself thinking how cool it would be if someone we knew had a Puppy Bowl party instead.
Thanks to the folks at Subaru, who have that fantastic Dog Tested. Dog Approved. ™ ad campaign, you can now join a virtual Puppy Bowl party with a bunch of other like minded people and their pups. If you have an iPad or iPhone, you simply download the app from the iTunes store. When the Puppy Bowl airs, you’ll be able to interact with other people who are watching it when it airs at 3:00 EST. It will also work when the Puppy Bowl is re-aired, which you’ll have to check your local listings for.
Of course, when you’re watching the Puppy Bowl, you’ll also get to watch some of Subaru’s fantastic ads. This year, they will be introducing Grant Weber, Subaru Canine Sales Associate. I find myself in envy of his job. Imagine helping dogs find the perfect Subaru for their needs and getting paid for it! The teasers I’ve seen for the commercials had me laughing, and I wanted to share one of them here with you.
My husband and I had to watch that one several times. There are also three others that are great, The Tailgate, Let’s Talk Financing, and Lint Roller. I don’t know about you, but if these are the teasers, I definitely want to see the entire commercials. Subaru has had some great commercials that we’ve loved over the years featuring dogs, because they realize that many people consider their dogs important members of the family. Their ads celebrate the love that people have for their dogs in fun and endearing ways. I know a lot of people still talk about the ad that starts with the Lab puppy and follows his progress to adulthood in the back seat of the family Subaru as the family grows and changes.
We don’t own a Subaru, but my husband keeps talking about it. It’s definitely our dream car, and one of the reasons is because they’re so pet-oriented. Not only do they have cars with pet amenities, but many of the dealerships work with local animal agencies to hold adoption events. On top of that, they also sponsor the Map My Dog Walk app that we rely on to help keep track of our progress of getting in shape.
I hope that a lot of you are planning to join in the fun during the Puppy Bowl. I think it will be a really fun, interactive experience. The best part is that you can enjoy it with your own dog and interact with people who feel a lot like you do.
