Bunny here at the keyboard, writing about my weekend.
I’m sure most of you know that this past weekend, we had a big party at our house, and it was a big holiday here in our country. Normally, I do some entertaining at the party, but this year, Mom and Dad decided that all of us dogs were staying in the house the whole time because there were really loud fireworks being set off by some people in our neighborhood. So, we missed the whole thing, but we dogs had our own party in the basement.
On Saturday, we stayed home and had a low key day with our humans until they went out for dinner. We went to the basement to hang out again. It was a very low key gathering. I admit, I am not a fan of the fireworks and I was glad to be done with the Fourth of July.
Sunday, we decided to stay close to home.
My humans had been really busy and wanted some time to relax and unwind. Plus, it was the beginning of something I like much better than Independence Day. Yesterday was the beginning of Shark Week.
Shark Week was fantastic. There were interesting shows with a lot of stuff I had never heard before. My humans sat down with us all day, we had snacks, curled up together on the couch and just let the world go by. When somebody set off more fireworks, I put on my festive Thundershirt (I got a red one for the holiday proceedings, because a girl can’t wear pink with her red, white and blue collar) and curled up with Dad on the cushy bed.
Shark Week will last all week and I hope that we get to spend a lot more time watching it together. It was nice to not be in a hurry to go somewhere or do something. I am still itching to have some more adventures with Mom before she goes back to work, but having time to relax together on the couch has a lot of appeal. My weekend wasn’t very exciting, but it turned out to be really nice. Staying at home has a lot of things going for it, especially this time of year.
